Therapy in Manchester City Centre & Online Across the UK

Warm, down-to-earth and conversational therapy, with plenty of space to talk and a therapist who won't just sit silently, leaving you wondering what you're supposed to say.

What is therapy with me like?

Therapist in Manchester Richard Hall

I think good therapy should feel like a genuine conversation. I'll give you plenty of space to talk, while also asking questions, sharing what I'm noticing and, where it's helpful, explaining some of the psychology behind what you might be experiencing.

Sometimes I might gently challenge you too, particularly when I think we've come across something important. There will be space for difficult feelings and serious conversations, but that doesn't mean every session has to feel heavy or clinical. There can be humour too.

Areas I can help with

I work with a range of issues, including:

  • Anxiety and stress

  • Low mood and depression

  • Relationships

  • Men’s mental health

  • LGBTQ+ issues

  • Trauma & past experiences

If you're unsure whether therapy is right for what you're experiencing, you're welcome to get in touch or arrange a consultation to talk it through.

About me

I'm Richard, a BACP-registered Counsellor and Psychotherapist based in Manchester. I work with adults from a wide range of backgrounds, helping people make sense of what's happening beneath the surface and understand themselves more clearly.

Alongside my core psychotherapy training, I've undertaken additional training in trauma-focused therapy and couples counselling. My work is integrative, which means I draw on different therapeutic approaches depending on you and what we're working on, rather than trying to fit everyone into the same way of doing therapy.

Work with me

I'm currently taking on new clients in Manchester City Centre and online across the UK.

I offer a complimentary consultation of up to 30 minutes, giving us a chance to have a chat, for you to get a feel for how I work, and for me to make sure I have the right experience to support you. There's no obligation to book afterwards.

Sessions are currently online, and I'm also planning to reopen a small number of face-to-face appointments in Manchester City Centre.
